Swimming, Spa & Hydrotherapy Pool Systems (Live Virtual Classroom)
Covering the different water systems used in the leisure industry including swimming pools & hot tubs, and the risks associated with waterborne pathogens including legionella, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, & staphylococcus
Description
There are many different kinds of pool for swimming, recreation and hydrotherapy. They operate under different regimes and at different temperatures and may have a range of different water treatments and disinfection. Any properly maintained pool with the correct water treatment regime, pH and level of disinfectant is unlikely to be a source of infection for bathers. Infections are much more likely to occur because of poor pool management and hygiene and overcrowding of changing areas, pool surround and toilet and showering facilities. Failure to achieve good pool maintenance can lead to a deterioration in the microbiological quality of the water and specific problems associated with microorganisms.
